In a bold move aimed at increasing electric vehicle (EV) adoption across the country, Tata Motors has extended its Lifetime High-Voltage (HV) Battery Warranty to two of its most popular electric SUVs: the Tata Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh variant. This follows the successful implementation of the same warranty program with the Harrier.ev earlier this year.
The new initiative, which applies to both new and existing customers, eliminates one of the biggest concerns about owning an EV: the long-term reliability and potential replacement cost of the high-voltage battery system.
Unlike many standard warranties that come with a time or distance limitation, Tata Motors is offering a true lifetime warranty with no kilometer restrictions on the battery pack. This groundbreaking offer places Tata Motors in a unique position in the Indian EV market and sets a new benchmark in consumer trust and long-term EV ownership confidence.
This warranty applies specifically to the first owner of the Curvv.ev or Nexon.ev 45. That means current first-time owners are eligible, but second-hand buyers will not receive the same benefit.

As an added incentive, Tata Motors has announced a ₹50,000 loyalty bonus for customers who are upgrading from an existing Tata EV to either the Curvv.ev or the Nexon.ev 45 kWh variant. This bonus will be applied at the time of purchase and is intended to encourage current Tata EV users to upgrade to the newer, higher-capacity electric SUVs.
This move not only rewards brand loyalty but also encourages consumers to experience the latest in Tata’s EV technology, design, and performance improvements.
Battery replacement cost is one of the major deterrents for potential EV buyers, especially in developing markets like India. By eliminating the worry about battery longevity, Tata Motors hopes to address this pain point head-on and give buyers the peace of mind they need to make the switch confidently.
Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., emphasized the significance of this initiative:
“By democratising premium EV technology, we have played a significant role in advancing India’s EV category’s exponential growth. One of the key factors behind this growth is the ability to instill confidence amongst customers for a worry-free ownership experience.”
He further added:
“We are proud to extend this feeling even further with the introduction of the Lifetime HV Battery Warranty solution for all customers of the Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh. By offering this unprecedented assurance, we are enabling a truly carefree, future-ready ownership journey for every TATA.ev buyer.”
Here’s what buyers stand to gain from this new warranty program:
With the EV market in India picking up pace, this move from Tata Motors is not only strategic but deeply consumer-centric. By combining a lifetime battery warranty with a loyalty upgrade bonus, Tata is addressing two of the biggest questions that consumers have: Is the battery reliable? and Is upgrading worth it?
For anyone considering a shift to electric mobility, the Tata Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh variant now come with one of the strongest after-sales assurances in the market. Tata Motors isn’t just selling EVs—it’s building trust for the long run.
