5 Most Affordable 1000cc+ Motorcycles in India (June 2025)

The dream of owning a powerful, liter-class motorcycle is becoming more accessible for Indian riders. Thanks to a growing range of options from various brands at competitive price points, experiencing the thrill of a 1000cc and above engine is no longer just for a select few.

Here’s a look at the five most affordable motorcycles with engine capacities of 1000cc and above currently available for sale in India (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

1. Triumph Bonneville T120 (Rs 11.09 lakh)

Triumph Bonneville Motorcycle

Topping our list as the most affordable liter-class motorcycle is the iconic Triumph Bonneville T120. This retro-styled beauty is powered by a 1200cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, delivering a respectable 80hp and 105Nm of torque. Its 270-degree crank ensures a distinctive and raspy exhaust note. While exuding classic charm, the T120 doesn’t skimp on modern features, including ride-by-wire, traction control, and cruise control. For those who prefer a cruiser, roadster, or scrambler form factor with the same engine, Triumph offers other models, though at a higher price point.

2. Honda CB1000 Hornet SP (Rs 12.36 lakh)

The latest entrant to this segment, the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, makes a strong statement with its competitive pricing. India receives the higher-spec SP variant directly at launch. This powerful naked machine boasts a 999cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine, churning out an impressive 157hp and 107Nm of torque. Not only is it the most affordable inline-four motorcycle on this list, but it also stands as the most powerful, offering incredible value for performance enthusiasts.

3. Kawasaki Versys 1100 (Rs 12.90 lakh)

For those prioritizing comfort and long-distance touring, the Kawasaki Versys 1100 is an excellent choice. This comfort-biased sport tourer features a taller stance, upright ergonomics, and enhanced wind protection, making it ideal for extended journeys and pillion comfort. While it shares its 1099cc engine with the Ninja 1100SX, it omits the TFT display and bidirectional quickshifter. However, at Rs 12.90 lakh, the Versys 1100 offers significant savings over its fully-faired sibling. Despite its relatively heavy 257kg kerb weight and 17-inch wheels at both ends, it remains strictly road-focused.

4. Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX (Rs 13.49 lakh)

The only fully-faired motorcycle on our list, the Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX, offers a compelling blend of sportiness and touring capabilities. Priced at Rs 13.49 lakh, it features a 1099cc engine producing 136hp and 113Nm. The Ninja 1100SX comes loaded with modern features such as cruise control, a vibrant TFT display, traction control, and a bi-directional quickshifter, enhancing both performance and rider convenience.

5. Suzuki Katana (Rs 13.61 lakh)

Rounding out our list is the retro-styled Suzuki Katana. Sharing its 999cc four-cylinder engine with the older GSX-R1000, the Katana delivers a respectable 152hp and 106Nm of torque. While it offers good value for its engine size, it remains relatively basic in terms of electronics and hardware compared to some of its similarly sized rivals. Despite being the most expensive bike on this list at Rs 13.61 lakh, the Katana’s unique styling and powerful engine still make it an attractive option for enthusiasts.
