The Hyundai Creta Electric is an eagerly anticipated subcompact electric SUV, set to debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo on January 17, 2025. It represents Hyundai’s first localized electric SUV in India, blending advanced features, performance, and range to redefine the EV market. The Creta Electric retains the design essence of its petrol counterpart, with distinctive EV enhancements such as a blanked-out grille, active air flaps, and aero alloy wheels for improved efficiency. Inside, the SUV boasts a leatherette dashboard with a dual-screen setup, a new dual-spoke steering wheel, wireless smartphone integration, and a panoramic sunroof. It comes with two battery options: a 51.4 kWh pack offering an ARAI-certified range of 473 km and a 42 kWh pack with a 390 km range. With a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds, the Creta Electric promises swift performance. Charging is convenient, with DC fast charging reaching 80% in under an hour and AC charging completing in four hours. It features eco, normal, and sport driving modes, Level-2 ADAS for safety, a 360-degree camera, V2L functionality for powering devices, and a digital key for touchless entry. Expected to be priced between ₹20 lakh and ₹30 lakh, the Creta Electric will compete with models like the MG ZS EV and Tata Curvv EV. With its exceptional range, advanced technology, and competitive positioning, it is set to make a significant impact in India’s growing EV segment.
